Obituary

Alf Freddie Tucker Sr., 85 of Hamburg, AR, peacefully transitioned on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at his residence. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, he was raised in the Pine Hill Community and built a legacy of love, hard work, and faith.

A dedicated employee, Alf Freddie retired from Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill after years of service. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he worshipped and found community. Outside of work and church, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending cherished time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Helen Marie Tucker; his parents, Henry and Verdell Calloway Tucker; his brother, Elder Charles Henry Tucker (Mattie); his sister, Lavern Guy; a great-grandchild, Taniya Davis; two nephews, Antonio Tucker and Marvin "Chick" Walter; his great-nephew DeCario Walter; and son-in-law, Aundrey Wynn.

Alf Freddie leaves behind a loving family to honor his memory: his son, Alf Freddie Tucker, Jr. and wife Melissa of Arlington, TX; three daughters, Barbara Williams and husband Kenneth of Hamburg, AR, Patricia Smith of Marrero, LA, and Joyce Wynn of Cedar Hill, TX; one brother, Theotis Tucker and wife Claudette of Lake Village, AR; three sisters, Clay Jean Paskel of Muskegon Heights, MI, Willie M. Swinney of Lake Village, AR and Helen M. Lassiter of Pine Bluff, AR; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Visitation is Friday, March 21, 2025, at Cromwell Funeral Home 5:00-6:30 P.M. Funeral service is Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mizell Hawkins officiating. Active pallbearers are Robert Tucker, DeAndre Wynn, Larry A. Smith, Alf Freddie Tucker III, DaMondre Crawford, Elijah Rodgers, and Ra'Chaud Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Walter, Anthony Tucker, Myron Tucker, Sherrod Paskel, Brian Guy, Kentu R. Lassiter, Michael Harris, Jr., Addison Tucker, and Cameron B. Robertson. Burial in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
