Obituary

Mr. Albert Wilson Pilgrim, 84, of Bastrop, LA, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury, TX. He was a native of Ashley County, AR, a Bastrop resident for the past 27 years, a retired truck driver and a member of Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: Sydney Long & May Bell Walker Pilgrim, three sisters, Martha Kelley Combs, Gladys Horn & Viola Carruth, three half-brothers: Neil, Audry & Jessie Hornbuckle and two half-sisters: Ethel Walker & Ruby Ciccettlo.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Verlita Pilgrim, two sons: Thomas Wilson, wife Teresa Pilgrim of Hamburg, AR & Jerry, wife Arlene Pilgrim of Ward, AR, three daughters: Ann, husband Johnny G. Knight & Nadine, husband Mike Velasquez all of Hamburg, AR & Shirley, husband Bill Webber of Pine Bluff, AR, two step-daughters, Carla, husband Clint Yaxtheimer of Granbury, TX & Lee, husband Don Woodall of North Richland Hills, TX, one brother, Billy "Pete" Pilgrim of Little Rock, AR, eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Amos & Bro. Lane Amos, officiating. His body will lie in state from 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 14 until funeral time Wednesday morning. Pallbearers are Chris Knight, Shelby Knight, Tony Pilgrim, Devin Pilgrim, Brian Velasquez & Brendon Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Harper & Zack Jackson. Burial in Crossroads Cemetery.
